Phase I: No-charge feasibility study and proposal
|
-
To ensure confidentiality, we mutually agree to nondisclosure of proprietary information.
-
You provide us with the technical information we need to carry out the study — including a specification, schematic, block diagram, or merely a "wish list" describing the integrated circuitry you need.
-
We explore potential trade-offs and partitioning options to identify a cost-effective solution that meets your requirements.
-
After an initial review, we hold follow-up meetings or conference calls with you to clarify and refine your requirements.
-
We present you a proposal that defines the statement-of-work, schedule, nonrecurring engineering (NRE), production pricing, and the terms and conditions.

Phase II: Design development
|
-
When we receive your purchase order for the project, we promptly assign a Project Engineer as your technical contact and begin the project.
-
Working with your engineering staff, our Project Engineer converts your requirements into an integrated circuit (IC) specification that is mutually acceptable.
-
After selecting the appropriate fabrication process, we design and simulate the circuit blocks that make up the IC, using one of our advanced Mentor Graphics workstations.
-
When the circuit is ready for physical design, the Project Engineer and layout designer generate the circuit floor plan.
-
One of our mask designers performs the physical layout of the IC floor plan and completely verifies it, using our resident DRC, ERC, and layout-versus-schematic (LVS) software.
-
The Project Engineer and one of his peers perform a final manual plot check, and the circuit is ready for mask and wafer fabrication.
-
After completing each stage of development, we hold design reviews at our facility. We encourage additional reviews at any time.

Phase III: Prototyping
|
-
Ten prototype circuits are fabricated and assembled in ceramic packages.
-
You and we thoroughly evaluate the prototypes to see that they meet all provisions of the specification.

Phase IV: IC production
|
-
Following final approval of the IC design, we begin production when we receive your purchase order. Production orders are usually for one year's requirement with regular releases.
-
We produce your IC to our standard Mil-I-45208 quality program. Before delivery, we test all parts on a 100% basis using our automatic test equipment.
